UnderRated Flicks #2


As promised we are back with another post in the UnderRated Flicks series. This week's recommendations include a variety of flicks from Sci-Fi to Slasher Thrillers and from Black Comedies to 'Based on a true story'. So without further ado here are this week's UnderRated movies :-

1. Sorry to Bother You (2018)

This unique dark comedy written and directed by Boots Riley is a must watch for all cinema fans out there. About the plot:- Telemarketer Cassius Green uses his 'White Voice' to get success and satisfy his greed what follows is a crazy-crazy twist. The cast includes Lakeith Stanfield, Tessa Thomson, Steven Yeun, Armie Hammer, Terry Crews, Danny Glover, David Cross and Lily James. This movie has been brilliantly shot, written and performed, which makes it a must watch.

2. The Report (2019)

This movie was also included in 'Best Movies of 2019' list, the main reason being the subject of the film and a strong performance by Adam Driver. Based on the FBI's investigation, led by Daniel Jones (Adam Driver), into CIA's use of torture interrogation techniques on suspected terrorist post 9/11. Director and Screenwriter, Scott Z. Burns, has made a thought provoking, intense and unsettling thriller. This flick is available on Prime Video for streaming.

3. Tucker & Dale vs Evil (2010)

If you are a fan of Horror comedies then this movie is a must checkout.  The absurdity of the plot will leave amazed. When two dumb-looking idiots are mistaken as Hillbillies by college students resulting in a chainsaw massacre. Director Eli Craig has made a Dark, Funny, Violent and memorable comedy. This movie won't disappoint you.

4. Detroit (2017)

This movie is based on the Algiers Motel incident during Detroit's 1967 12th Street Riot. This movie was definitely underlooked during oscar nominations. Director Kathryn Bigelow has made a masterpiece crime drama based on a true story. Won't say much about the plot of the movie but it is definitely a must check out for everyone.

5. Life (2017)

Although it recieved mixed reviews from critics, I would say it is a pretty enjoyable flick. With amazing performances from Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Reynolds and  Rebecca Ferguson, this movie is a very gripping timepass. This movie has amazing special effects. Some elements of this movie remind you of Alien (1979). So if you love the Alien series, you are definitely gonna enjoy this Dark and Intense space drama.
