The Man who Killed Hitler and then The Bigfoot (2018)
The Nice Guys (2016)
A scene from'The Nice Guys' |
One of the finest movies by Director Shane Black, The Nice Guys is a fresh take on the good-bad guy genre. The main characters PI Holland March (Ryan Gosling) and private eye Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) are one of the best duo, I have ever seen on screen. This movie is blessed with great screenwriting, superb acting, amazing humour and brilliant direction. This movie is definitely one of the best movies I have watched till date.
The Man who Killed Hitler and then The Bigfoot (2018)
A snap from the movie |
Director and Screenwriter, Robert D. Krzykowski has made hell of debut feature film. The name of the movie probably reveals the plot but it does not matter coz the movie is so much more than its weird main plot. This movie is about the sacrifices made by a soldier for his country, its about love that was put on hold coz of war, its about supporting and caring for our loved ones and its about duty above all things. This movie is very well directed and beautifully shot. Sam Elliott has given a great performance. The movie is somewhat slow in its pace but the screenplay keeps you interested, and cinematography definitely helps. Its absurd premise, brilliant setting, fine performance and amazing writing make this flick a good addition to your list.
Overlord (2018)
A snap from 'Overlord' |
Good Nazi-Horror-War movies are a very rare genre to watch in recent cinema. This amazing horror movie is definitely a redefinition of the genre. Overlord has one of the greatest opening scene, I have seen in a movie. This movie is a hybrid of many genres like sci-fi, horror, war, action, thriller etc. Set during the World War-II, it is a story about 4 American soldiers who discover that there's more going on in the Nazi-occupied village than meets the eye. Overlord is definitely one of the most underrated movies of all time. This movie deserves more attention.
Mandy (2018)
This Dark and Gruesome revenge tale is not for the faint of heart. Nicholas Cage gives one of his best performances till date in this graphically violent thriller. Directed and Co-written by Panos Cosmatos, this movie is definitely one of his best works. This movie is so perfectly shot that it seems like unreal. This movie is a must watch for cinema fans just coz of its gorgeous visuals. Set in 1983, this movie is a story of revenge between Red (Nicholas Cage) and a cult led by Jeremiah Sand, who savagely murdered his wife. Besides powerful visuals this flick also has amazing dialogues, extremely graphic violence and strong acting which make this flick a must watch.
Wind River (2017)
This movie surely deserved some Oscar buzz, but unfortunately didn't get any. Set in a snowy American-Indian reservation in Wyoming, this thriller takes on the investigation of the murder of 18 year old woman. This thought provoking and authentic flick should be on everyone's watchlist. This movie has the elements of both 'Hell or High Water' and 'Three Billboards outside ebbing Missouri'. With an splendid cast consisting of Jeremy Renner, Elizabeth Olsen and Jon Bernthal and an amazing script, this movie surely is underrated.
